LOCATION

We believe Mt. Vernon, Illinois is the PERFECT place to host the Midwest Aviation Expo​.
Our proximity to major Midwest population centers, easy interstate access, and a short distance
from St. Louis Lambert International and Evansville Regional Airports
had many in the aviation industry talking favorably after the inaugural event.
The great system of airports in Illinois and in neighboring states weighs heavily in our favor as well.

EXHIBITOR FEES

The Midwest LSA Expo Committee established booth fees as low as possible so exhibitors would not be burdened
with a big expense to go along with their travel costs to the Midwest Aviation Expo.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Hotels:
Mt. Vernon, Illinois boasts over 1200 hotel rooms to fit any budget.
Rooms can be booked in the $40 per night range at Motel Six or the Cozy Inn to the $100 plus range 
at Comfort Suites, Hampton, Fairfield, Holiday, and Drury Inns. 
Perhaps the best feature is that all of our hotels are located
in the same area of our city within walking distance of one another.
The hotels are near two shopping areas, numerous chain restaurants, and an eight-screen movie theater.
Imagine a mini–Las Vegas Strip right here in the Midwest (without the gambling of course)!
For lack of a better term we will call it “The Strip”.

Camping:
For those seeking adventure, camaraderie with other campers, or simply being outdoors, camping is available at the airport.
Campers usually prefer the beautiful lakeshore shelter area to roughing it under an airplane wing.
The shelter area is closer to the bathroom and shower facilities as well.
Please be aware only two showers are available at the airport,
so this needs to be taken into consideration for all those considering camping

Food:

Over 70 restaurants are located in Mt. Vernon.  Many famous chains as well as local proprietors offer something for everyone.

COST OF LIVING

Southern Illinois is one of the most affordable areas in the country to work and raise a family.
This will be passed on to our Midwest Aviation Expo visitors via affordable goods and services.
Although the Midwest Aviation Expo Committee cannot control prices charged at the chain restaurants, 
we can promise affordable prices at the event site.

CITY LOGISTICS

Mt. Vernon Outland Airport is just 4 miles from “The Strip”.
Better yet, there are only two turns an exhibitor or attendee will make each morning
– turning from “The Strip” and turning into the airport.
That’s right, it’s a straight shot through a beautiful small Midwest City.
There are no 30-minute one-way commutes involved with the Midwest Aviation Expo!

SHUTTLE/TRANSPORTATION SERVICES

To ease travel worries and save you money, the Midwest Aviation Expo Committee has arranged
for shuttle service between the airport and “The Strip” during the expo hours.
Shuttles will run every half hour.
Some courtesy vehicles will be available as we Southern Illinoisans are known for our generosity.
